Late 2019, YEMA was approached by Kevin Collettmüller, one of the administrators of Klokkeriet, a Norwegian watch enthusiasts’ Facebook group founded in 2014 having over 60,000 members.
Klokkeriet is Norway’s most popular platform for watch enthusiasts to meet, discuss, buy, and sell watches. What makes this community so unique is the humor amongst administrators and members, but also the very high standards demanded by the administrators regarding information in sales posts, etc. As Kevin says, “We are extremely proud of Klokkeriet’s community, I honestly think our members make Klokkeriet one of the best Facebook groups in the world. It feels like coming home, every time I log on.”
Last year Kevin reached out to our CEO Christopher Bole to propose a collaborative timepiece. Most Klokkeriet members being fond of motorsports and chronographs, Kevin brought forward the iconic Speedgraf as a base for a collaborative watch project. “YEMA makes beautiful watches with a solid foundation in their own heritage. Some of us own the Speedgraf, we love the proportions and the look-and-feel of this amazing chronograph.”

PROJECT DESIGN
Inspired by YEMA’s Speedgraf 1960’s classic bi-compax dial, Kevin worked with our designers on a panda dial version exclusive to Klokkeriet. Kevin loves the result: “The aesthetics are amazing. The two black registers set against the snow-white main dial are eye-catching while ensuring readability. Another subtle differentiating factor is that the steel case is now brushed and polished on the side. Along with the discrete Klokkeriet-logo at 6 o’clock, it makes of this a unique Speedgraf. We did not want to completely highjack the design of this iconic chronograph, I think the final result is very tasteful and respectful of the original design yet unique, one doesn’t really need to be a Klokkeriet fan to wear this timepiece.”

The Speedgraf x Klokkeriet has kept the historic aluminium bi-directional rotatable bezel with its 60-minute reverse graduation that was used at the time as a countdown. The vintage auto racing inspired telemeter and tachymeter scales around the dial and red-tipped second hand have also been respected. The scratch-resistant domed sapphire crystal adds to the retro-style.
This unique timepiece is equipped with the widely acclaimed vertical clutch column wheel automatic chronograph Seiko NE86. This 34 ruby jewels solid Japanese caliber beats at 28,800 A/h and offers a power reserve of 45 hours.
The case back features Klokkeriet’s logo embossed with a hydraulic press and the Limited Edition mention numbered from 001/200.

This collector’s Limited Edition will be available on pre-order as from November 10th, 2020 on YEMA online stores at € 1,499 incl. VAT (US$ 1,499).
